Khairatabad Bada Ganesh festival held in Hyderabad each year is meant to be a joyous occasion, however, 279 attendees ruined the festival for others as they were detained by the Hyderabad City Police Women's Safety Wing for harassing women and attendees. The event, held in the city's Old City, saw these individuals engaging in indecent conduct and inappropriate behaviour in public spaces.

The Safety Squad, or SHE Teams, monitored the area to provide protection, patrolling busy public areas in small groups to arrest eve-teasers, harassers, and stalkers. After the event, the detained individuals were presented before a magistrate for legal action. The Hyderabad Police have ensured the public that they will not tolerate such behaviours and have encouraged attendees to report on-site harassment and teasing.

The safety squad continues to patrol public areas to ensure a safe environment for all. Officials urged citizens to immediately report any inappropriate behaviour they see, urging fellow attendees to kill ill intentions and keep themselves safe from being jailed as well.
