Exploring Hyderabad's Latest Traffic Hassle: Tarnaka Junction Flyover Closure

Are you on your way to Tarnaka Junction in Hyderabad, planning to take the flyover, but unsure if it's open? Unfortunately, you will need to find an alternative route, as the flyover is closed for traffic.

From August 1st, 2022, authorities have shut down the Tarnaka Junction flyover for ongoing repairs and renovations. The announcement has left many commuters, who rely on this route, worrying about the congestion and looking for alternate routes.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Hyderabad Traffic Police released a traffic advisory guide informing residents of the flyover's closure. They have also shared alternate routes to minimize congestion and travel delays.

According to the police, they will take advantage of the flyover closure to carry out repair and maintenance work, including road resurfacing and repair of the guardrails.

The announcement advised commuters to use the Alternative Corridor No. 5 (Old Medchal Road via Lenin Nagar, Venkatagiri, and Nadimpally) to avoid congestion near the junction.

Commuters can also use Corridor No. 4 (Nagole to Kacheguda via SR Nagar and Khairatabad). Corridors No. 1 (Koti to LB Nagar) and No. 2 (Rajendranagar to Langer Houz) can also be used.

The traffic police have also deployed additional forces to guide the flow and manage the traffic congestion expected at peak hours. They requested residents' cooperation and patience during this time.

While the flyover's closure will cause some short-term frustration, the renovation will improve road quality and safety levels, making it a smoother and more pleasant journey for all once it re-opens.
