# Hyderabad Police Launches Safety Clubs In Schools, Colleges

In a novel initiative to foster a culture of safety and security, the Hyderabad City Police on Saturday, September 3, launched 'Safety Clubs' in various colleges and educational institutions across the city. The move is aimed at engaging the youth in co-creating a safer city alongside the police force.

Speaking at the launch event,Rpchentha S. Rao, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, emphasized the need for such initiatives. "Today's students are tomorrow's citizens, and it is important to equip them with safety skills and provide them with practical knowledge about dealing with various situations."

The pilot phase of the Safety Clubs initiative has seen the formation of these clubs in 20 colleges and schools. The clubs will be comprised of students who will undergo specialized training workshops conducted by the police personnel. These sessions will aid in developing skills related to safety, security, and first-aid.

Additionally, the club members will actively participate in awareness campaigns and dissemination of safety-related information among their peers. They will also engage in regular interactions with the police to better understand the challenges faced by the city and contribute to developing solutions.

Rao further added, "The objective of the Safety Clubs is to build a sense of responsibility and empower students with the skills and knowledge to address safety concerns and emergencies both within the institution and in their day-to-day lives."

With the launch of the Safety Clubs, the Hyderabad City Police are stepping up their efforts to create a proactive approach to safety and empower the city's youth to be active participants in building a safer community.
