A recent drug raid in Hyderabad has swept up five drug dealers in possession of 199 grams of cocaine, two passports, 10 cell phones, and more. Rakul Preet Singh's brother, Aman, was also arrested as an attendee of this drug ring.
Earlier this week, the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) partnered with the Narsingi Police, Cyberabad, to conduct a drug raid at a residential apartment. Their investigation stemmed from credible sources about a drug meeting occurring within the limits of the Narsingi Police Station in Cyberabad. As a result, five drug dealers were apprehended.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of 199 grams of cocaine (estimated worth of Rs. 35 lakhs), two passports, two bikes, 10 cell phones, and other incriminating materials. The arrested drug dealers were identified as Onuoha Blessing (aka Joana Gomes), Azeez Noheem Adeshola, Allam Satya Venkata Gowtham, Sanaboina Varun Kumar, and Mohd Mahaboob Shareef. Two drug suppliers, Divine Ebuka Suzee and Ezeonyili Franklin Uchenna, were also recognized as absconding.
Throughout their investigation, the TGANB conducted extensive surveillance on Hyderabad Airport, monitoring any old drug offenders or absconding accused. They identified Onuoha Blessing, who frequently traveled to Hyderabad under the alias Joana Gomes and had previously been an ex-drug offender. The deputy commissioner of police, Rajendra Nagar, Cyberabad, was informed, and Narsingi Police conducted a raid on a flat in Hydershakote, leading to the arrests.
Divine Ebuka Suzee, also known as Ebuka, Lebuka, Emmanuel, and Level, is believed to be the leader of the drug syndicate and is possibly in Nigeria. With the help of the other arrested drug dealers, he operates a large drug syndicate. Onuoha Blessing was tasked with transporting drugs from Delhi to Hyderabad and other Indian cities, using fake passports and international SIM cards to avoid detection.
Among the other arrested includes Azeez Noheem Adeshola, a Nigerian national who came to India in 2014 on a student visa. He was convicted of cheating using a fake demand draft at Osmania University for two years and was out on bail, involved in drug trafficking. Allam Satya Venkata Gowtham, a Visakhapatnam native, was previously involved in a drug case under KPHB colony PS in 2020. Sanaboina Varun Kumar, initially a car driver, became a drug peddler by connecting with Gowtham, procuring cocaine through him, and earning Rs. 6 lakhs within the past seven months.
During the investigation, 13 consumers promoting drug use in Telangana were identified. Among them was Aman, the brother of actress Rakul Preet Singh, which has caused a widespread controversy.
The TGANB, in its efforts to curb drug abuse in Hyderabad and Cyberabad, will continue to conduct checks at Hyderabad Airport, monitor old drug offenders and absconding accused persons, and collaborate with the Narsingi Police, Cyberabad for any further tips or leads.
