Bollywood Singer Booked for Alleged Drug Abuse at Birthday Bash

Bollywood singer Prateek Kuhad and rapper Divine have canceled their upcoming collaborations with pop singer Ash King after he was allegedly involved in a drug scandal at his own birthday party.

Ash King, whose real name is Ashish Sachdev, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday, alongside actress Simone Singh, comedian Bharti Singh, and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa over alleged possession and consumption of drugs at an upscale Mumbai hotel.

The development comes within a week of the NCB launching investigations into alleged drug abuse in the Hindi film industry, popularly known as Bollywood, and the NCB has said that it is probing whether the four involved in the birthday party incident had any links with drug peddlers.

The NCB earlier this week also questioned actor Shah Rukh Khan for over five hours in relation to the death of his close friend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and the alleged use of drugs in the film industry.

Singh, who has sung alongside King in the past, announced he would be canceling his upcoming collaboration with the singer.

"I will not be working with him on our upcoming song. That's all I want to say for now," he wrote on Instagram, according to reports.

Rapper Divine also said he would no longer be collaborating with King on a song. "I won't be collaborating with Ash King for a song anytime soon. That's all I want to say," he told Times of India.

The cancellations come amid a widening crackdown on drug abuse in the Hindi film industry by the NCB.
