Citizens Financial Group, a prominent financial entity listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has embarked on a journey with Cognizant to establish its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. The centre will focus on bolstering the bank's technology capabilities in critical areas such as enterprise platforms, customer experience, and data-driven innovation. This collaboration further solidifies Hyderabad's position as a leading global destination for GCCs, particularly within the banking, financial services, and insurance sectors.

The Minister for IT, Electronics, Industries, Commerce, and Legislative Affairs of Telangana, Mr. Duddilla Sridhar Babu, attended the launch event in Hyderabad. He praised the city's rapid technological advancements and growing commercial ecosystem, highlighting the presence of over 350 GCCs. He also noted Hyderabad's exceptional commercial growth, citing the airport's remarkable passenger growth among Indian metros and the significant absorption of commercial office space in the last year.

Cognizant, as Citizens Financial Group's strategic technology partner, will play a critical role in establishing and scaling the Hyderabad GCC. As Head of the Business Unit (BFSI) at Cognizant, Mr. Nageswar Cherukupalli, emphasized Hyderabads burgeoning prominence in the BFSI sector, highlighting the GCCs of several major players in the field, including Goldman Sachs, Citi Group, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo.

This partnership marks a new milestone in Citizens Financial Group's digital transformation journey, accelerating its technological advancements and improving operational efficiencies while minimizing reliance on external vendor partners.
