J&K Bank's focus on agricultural and retail loans has driven a 16.7% increase in profit during Q1, according to the bank's Managing Director and CEO, Amitava Chatterjee.
The lender's profit for the quarter stood at 485.87 crore, exceeding the 415.49 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Chatterjee highlighted the bank's initiatives to finance horticulture and agriculture-based industries, as well as the expansion of its retail loan portfolio, as key contributors to the profit growth.
