Robert Bosch announced on August 8 that it will form a joint venture with TSMC, Infineon, and NXP to build a wafer fabrication plant in Dresden, Germany, with operations expected to begin by the second half of next year. The venture will be majority-owned by TSMC, which will hold 70% of the equity, while Bosch, Infineon, and NXP will each hold a 10% stake. The total investment in the project is expected to exceed 10 billion euros ($10.97 billion), with funding coming from equity contributions, debt, and significant support from both the European Union and the German government.
