Colgate-Palmolive India has partnered with the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government to launch an oral health awareness initiative under the project Dr YSR Chinaravvu. The initiative aims to educate children in the state on oral health and encourage them to say no to tobacco. The program was inaugurated by Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Minister for Agriculture, Cooperation, Marketing, and Food Processing of the AP government, and Prabha Narasimhan, MD, and CEO of Colgate-Palmolive India. As part of the partnership, Colgate-Palmolive India will collaborate with the NGO Sambhav Foundation to implement the school program beginning in the Nellore district, covering 2,600 government schools and eventually expanding to other districts in AP. The company will also support dental equipment and mobile dental vans in government hospitals in Kadappa, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam. Speaking at the launch, Prabha Narasimhan said, "We hope to reach approximately 4 million children in Andhra Pradesh with this project."
