Nellore Mayor Sravanthi Jayavardhan has presented the Rs 695 crore annual budget for 2025-26 at a corporation office meeting on Wednesday. Speaking to the audience, she stated that the budget estimations are designed for the development of Nellore in various spheres. The budget is to be spent on developing parks, preventing drinking water problems, curbing mosquito menace, and providing infrastructure in municipal schools.

In response to members' concerns and allegations of discrimination in fund allocation for certain divisions, Sravanthi claimed that the funds would be used to develop divisions based on each division's unique public issues. She assured them that no discrimination would be shown toward any corporator or division, and that funds would be distributed equally on a priority basis.

Despite several appeals, officials have failed to conduct repairs on motors in the 14th division, reportedly claimed 14th division corporator Karthm Pratap Reddy, who also alleged negligence on the part of Commissioner M Surya Teja.
