Former key minister accountability and urban development (MA&UD) P. Narayana, along with Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Municipal Commissioner Surya Teja, cleared over 50% of the pending building approval applications on Thursday, August 1. This special drive at the Nellore municipal corporation office saw the clearing of 40 out of the 76 applications.

The minister commented that these drives would occur twice a month, on average, going forward as part of measures to organize special drives in all municipalities across the state. He also highlighted the need for technical problems in the Town Planning Department to be resolved soon, and for the Officers and ward secretaries to supervise the construction of new buildings.

Narayana suggested that the Engineering Department must make arrangements for any required new drains and canals to be constructed. The Minister also asked the officials to make arrangements at the Ganesh Nimajhana ghats for the Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations later in the day.
