Electoral Fraud on the Rise in Andhra Pradesh

In yet another poll-related development, Nellore City is restructuring its polling stations to make voting more accessible to voters. The Special Summary Revision-2025 aims to make polling stations more accessible and is party of the ongoing awareness campaign to boost voter registration, especially among young voters.

Each polling station will now cater to between 800 and 1200 voters, and will be located within a 2 km radius of each household. This aims to boost voter turnout and encourage more people to exercise their democratic rights without inconvenience.

The meeting was conducted at the Command Control Centre of the Nellore Municipal Corporation, in the presence of Electoral Registration Officer (Nellore) Y.O. Nandan, and attended by Assistant ERO Shafi Malik, Deputy Tahsildar Anand Rao, Election Superintendent Padmavati, and Chakrapani.

Commissioner Nandan highlighted the importance of coordinating Booth Level Agents with Booth Level Officers to address any concerns with the electoral roll. He also ordered that the roll be aligned with household addresses for sequential listing.

Attendees were informed that all objections regarding the draft roll have been resolved and that training sessions for Booth Level Officers will be rolled out shortly.
