Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for elections next month.
On Monday, the State Election Commission (SEC) issued notifications for elections to Nellore Municipal Corporation and 12 municipalities on November 15.
Polling will also take place in 25 wards across two Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation areas, 10 in six municipal corporations, and 13 in the 12 municipalities.
The elections will take place as per the schedule outlined below:
- Polling on November 15
- Publication of public notices by returning officers on November 3
- Filing of nominations by November 5
- Scrutiny of nominations on November 6
- Last day for withdrawal of candidacies on November 8
- Final list of candidates published after 3 pm on November 8
- Repolling, if required, on November 16
- Counting of votes on November 17
What's Next?
Elections are also taking place for wards in Kakinada (4), Visakhapatnam and Eluru (2) and one each in Vizianagaram, Machilipatnam, Guntur, and Anantapur municipal corporations.
Further, there will be elections for two wards in Repalle and one each in Bobbili, Pithapuram, Kovvur, Nuzvid, Macherla, Addanki, Badvel, Nagari, Nandikotkur, Yemmiganur and Rayadurg municipalities.
The SEC is yet to issue notifications for these polls.
