There will be a collaboration between the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and eleven hospitals across the country to enhance the quality, reliability, and safety aspects within the medical sector, in a program named Health-QUEST.

Healthcare professionals have shown a keen interest in learning from ISRO's experiences in managing the interplay between humans, machines, and environments in human spaceflight programs, and about the medical equipment developed by the space organization.

This program aims to make use of space technology spinoffs, which have led to the development of affordable artificial limbs and jaws, a left ventricular assist device, and ventilators. In the safety sector, ISRO's experiences have helped develop flame-proof coatings, aerogel thermal wear for soldiers to protect them from extreme cold, and search and rescue beacons.

The organization's chairman, Dr. S. Somanath, will address a keynote at the event, where there will be a brainstorming session between experts from the space sector and doctors from various fields.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen the healthcare sector's reliability, and safety and continuously upgrade the quality, leveraging ISRO's expertise.

Dr. Brinda V, Director (DSRQ), Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Health, Bengaluru, Dr. Alexander Thomas, President AHPI, Dr. A.N. Venkatesh, President SEMI (Society for Emergency Medicine in India (SEMI), and Dr. T.S. Srinath Kumar, Head, Narayana Health, will share their experiences at the event.
