Amid a lineup of well-established giants, Sembcorp Energy India Limited (SEIL) has stood out, bagging two awards for its CSR initiatives in the Best Healthcare and Wellness Programme category and the Best Environmentally Sustainable Programme category during the India CSR and Sustainability Conclave 2024.

The first award was presented for its operation of a mobile medical unit, community emergency ambulance service, health and wellness centers, RO water supply plants, supporting public health centres by providing medical equipment, conducting free eye check-ups, and distributing spectacles and audiometry camps. The company also plans to build 100 health and wellness centers in the next two years.

The second award was for effective decarbonization initiatives. SEIL has provided rooftop solar systems for anganwadi centers and institutions such as Vikrama Simhapuri University, IRCS-Nellore, and solar streetlights for Nelaturupalem. They have also organized mega plantation drives (32,000 saplings planted on 80 acres) at government offices in the combined Nellore district. Their efforts echo the company's sustainability goals, aligning with the Indian Government's decarbonization goals.

Raghav Trivedi, SEIL CEO, congratulated the team upon winning the awards, stating that the recognition underscores their unwavering commitment to community empowerment and sustainability. The future holds over one gigawatt of renewable energy portfolio in India.
