Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for polls in Nellore Corporation and municipalities across 12 districts. The State Election Commission (SEC) has issued notifications for elections on November 15. This will determine the composition of 25 wards in municipalities across the state, influencing the political landscape ahead of the state and general elections.
The municipalities include Akiveedu, Jaggaiahpet, Kondapalli, Dachepalli, Gurazala, Darsi, Buchireddypalem, Kuppam, Bethamcherla, Kamalapuram, Rajampet, and Penukonda. In addition, polls will also be held in 25 wards across six municipal corporations and 13 municipalities.
The elections will take place on November 15, with nominations filing closing on November 5. The nomination scrutiny will occur on November 6, with withdrawals accepted until November 8. Final candidate lists will be published on November 8, with repolling (if required) on November 16. The much-anticipated vote count will take place on November 17.
These elections are crucial as they will shape the political scenario ahead of the state elections, which are expected to take place in 2024. Furthermore, the elections will test the ruling party's popularity ahead of the general elections in 2024.
