These 5 Stocks May Deliver Up To 25% Returns In The Short Term

Three stocks to buy according to Jefferies

According to a report by Jefferies, which covered the BSE 500 index, these are the three stand out stocks which have an upside potential ranging between 15-25% in the short term.

Reliance Industries Ltd: Reliance Industries Ltd is a heavyweight in the index and has steadily grown over the last few years, the report says. The stock is currently trading at a little less than its historical average. The Jefferies report says Reliance's valuation is at a significant discount to its peers and given the robust free cash flow (FCF) yield, it should trade at a premium to the market. The stock may see a potential upside of 17% according to the report.

IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd: IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd is the only infra stock amongst the BSE 500 companies and has seen a massive correction in the last few months, the report states. The downside risk is limited and current valuations are at multi-year highs, the stock could see a return of up to 24.2% in the short term.

Gland Pharma Ltd: Pharmaceutical companies are seeing a surge in revenues due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Gland Pharma Ltd is a mid-cap healthcare stock that has underperformed in the last three months, due to slowing revenue growth and margin pressure because of inflation, the report states. However, with a diversified portfolio, cost control, and new business opportunities, the stock is expected to do well in the short term with a potential upside of up to 24.9%.

The report also gave a word of caution by adding that despite the recent correction in the market, Indian equities are still not cheap and investors should be selective in picking stocks.
