Kane, who had a number of decent chances to score, did so finally in the 37th minute with a neat finish across the goalkeeper after being played in by Marco Asensio.

The second half was less one-sided, with Bayern substituting their entire team, and Tottenham pulled one back throughPK Subbiah. But Karl restored Bayern's four-goal cushion from close range in the 81st minute, and Kusi-Asare completed the rout in stoppage time.

Tottenham's senior squad now head to the United States, where they will face Chelsea and MLS sides Orlando City and Barcelona. But the young squad that traveled to Munich returns to England before heading to Spain next week.

In what was the final friendly match for Bayern, Nico Kovac will be pleased his side's attacking verve and sharpness is peaking ahead of the new Bundesliga season, which starts for them against Hansi Flick's old side, Bayer Leverkusen.
