Telangana has seen a decrease in cybercrime complaints and financial losses, according to a senior police official. With 11% less financial cybercrime complaints between January-April 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, Telangana has taken proactive investigations, public awareness initiatives, and data analytics to combat cybercrime.
According to the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) Director, Shikha Goel, the state has also increased the percentage of money recovered from lost funds from 13% in 2024 to 16% in 2025, and the number of arrested persons has tripled.
The TGCSB has adopted data-driven and technology-supported methods to identify cybercrime hotspots and conducted special field operations. Joint operation teams have been formed to execute interstate PT warrants, enhancing tracking and resolution capabilities. The TGCSB has also conducted extensive statewide awareness campaigns targeting digital arrest scams, investment frauds, and OTP-based crimes.
"Advanced analytics, digital profiling, and Open-Source Intelligence tools are being deployed to support enforcement teams in identifying and arresting cybercriminals efficiently," said TGCSB Director Shikha Goel.
