Job Creation and Displacement
The report estimates the creation of 170 million new jobs globally by 2030,offset by the displacement of 92 million roles, resulting in a net gain of 78million jobs. Conversely,automation and generative AI technologies are accelerating the decline of roleslike cashiers, ticket clerks, administrative assistants, and even creative jobslike graphic designers. Over the next five years, high-growth roles willinclude agricultural laborers, software developers, and building tradesworkers, while roles like stock clerks, building cleaners, and printing workerswill see steep declines.
The Skills Revolution
A widening skills gap presents a critical challenge, with nearly 40% ofrequired skills expected to change by 2030. The report highlights the growingdemand for technology-related skills in AI, big data, and cybersecurity,alongside human-centric capabilities such as creative thinking, resilience,flexibility, and leadership.
Top skills for thefuture include proficiency in emerging technologies, creative problem-solving,and adaptability, underscoring the importance of lifelong learning and theblend of technological and interpersonal expertise.
