Dubai Police's Three-Day Drive to Educate Youth on Dangers of Drugs

The Dubai Police held a three-day awareness drive aimed at educating the youth about the dangers of drug abuse. The initiative coincided with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The campaign focused on four themes: "understanding the risks of drugs, their harmful physical and psychological effects, addiction as a disease that can be cured, and the importance of community support for those who have become addicted".

Dubai Police emphasized the importance of such campaigns in their continued efforts to build a society that encourages a drug-free culture and empowers individuals to resist the allure of drugs. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to address the issue of drug abuse in the UAE and to raise awareness about the potential consequences of illegal substance use among residents.

According to Major General Abdullah Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, "The awareness campaign is part of the National Strategy for Drug Control 2021-2026, which aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among all members of society, and to promote a culture that rejects drug abuse".

It is evident that initiatives like this one by the Dubai Police are essential in fostering a community that is informed and vigilant about the potential dangers of drug abuse, and empowered to make positive lifestyle choices to lead healthy and productive lives.
