Last month, the Winnipeg Police Service's guns and gangs unit began investigating the area. They carried out a raid on July 20, seizing significant quantities of illegal drugs and a loaded weapon.

Police report that the drugs seized included 998 grams of cocaine, 129 grams of crack, 18 grams of psilocybin, and three grams of MDMA. Also confiscated was hydrocodone, cash, and drug packaging materials. All told, the street value of the drugs is believed to be over $112,000.

The raid also resulted in the seizure of a loaded handgun and an empty 50-round magazine. As a result, two men, aged 26 and 29, and a 43-year-old woman are facing numerous charges related to drug and firearm trafficking. The men are also charged with possessing property obtained by crime, and both men are additionally charged with firearms offences.

The woman's charges are similarly extensive, including possession of property obtained by crime, drug trafficking, and firearms offences. She was released on an undertaking, while the two men remain in custody.
