RIL AGM 2025: Reliance Unveils Mega Solar Project In Gujarat

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) recently held their annual general meeting (AGM) for the year 2025. During the meeting, chairman Mukesh Ambani highlighted the company's plans to create a massive solar project within the state of Gujarat.

Ambani announced that the project, named 'Mega Solar', will provide affordable renewable energy to local consumers. The project is particularly significant since India is currently working to increase its renewable energy capacity. Reliance aims to achieve 23 GW of renewable energy by 2030.

The 'Mega Solar' project will also contribute to the national goal of achieving 50% renewable energy by 2030. As part of the initiative, Reliance is planning to invest $786 million in setting up a solar panel manufacturing facility.

It will be adding an additional 10 GW of renewable energy capacity to its portfolio, deepening its commitment to clean, sustainable, and affordable energy for its customers. Ambani stated that the project will be a major step towards making Gujarat a "net-zero" carbon emission state.

The company is also constructing its battery and electrolyser giga factories, aiming to start in 2026, to further support the initiative. As India moves towards cleaner and greener energy sources, Reliance's 'Mega Solar' project is likely to be a major game-changer.

By aligning itself with the country's renewable energy goals, Reliance Industries is setting the benchmark for other companies to follow in its footsteps towards a more sustainable future.

Could this be the kickstart needed to propel India towards its targets?

Stay tuned as we continue to bring you the latest updates on Reliance's initiatives and India's journey towards a greener future.
