Central Arkansas will be home to a new path to healing, thanks to Peak State Recovery's new addiction center in Saline County. This facility will be the first of its kind in the county, taking up residence in a former school district building. Peak State Recovery's CEO, Christopher Dickie, expresses that this facility could barely scrape the surface of meeting the demand for such amenities in Arkansas, where addiction rates are high.
Dickie has a passionate drive to help addicts as he has personal experience with addiction. The center will provide a unique method to recovery. This method starts with a spa-like detox experience before moving to a 42-bed residential center that focuses on the holistic approach to healing. Patients will have access to art therapy, yoga, meditation, nutrition, and fitness. The center's philosophy is that motion creates emotion, and they're intentional about daily activities.
The community was hesitant about the center at first, but the Perrin Community Trust, which owns the building, voted in favor of leasing the space to Peak State Recovery. Dickie emphasized that these are sick people trying to get well and that these people are not bad people trying to get good.
This new center is anticipated to give breakthrough moments to help sustain the patients when they leave the facility.
