"Trafficked: Mumbai police seize MD drugs worth Rs 2.04 cr, detain two."

In yet another success for Mumbai police in their fight against the narcotics trade, two drug peddlers were arrested in Versova, Andheri. The Mumbai Crime Branch seized over Rs 2.04 crore worth of mephedrone (MD) drugs and detained two Nigerian nationals.

The bust comes after the Ghatkopar Unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell apprehended two other drug peddlers, also in Goregaon. These two suspects were found with MD drugs weighing in at 1,020 grams and valued at approximately Rs 17 lakh in the international market.

Under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, both individuals have been remanded to police custody until February 6th. They were reportedly supplying MD drugs in Mumbai and Palghar districts.

The most recent detainees are also believed to have been supplying MD drugs, commonly known as "party drugs," in various parts of the city. Mumbai police are urging the public to alert them to any knowledge they may have about the narcotics trade and to circulate this information anonymously.
