Vikrama Simhapuri University hosted a panel discussion on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The NEP aims to combine traditional Indian wisdom with modern education to promote holistic learning.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Allam Srinivasa Rao emphasized the importance of IKS, which combines Vedas, Upanishads, Ayurveda, Yoga, Mathematics, Astronomy, and other traditional sciences to form the backbone of India's intellectual heritage.

He highlighted that the NEP 2020 offers a chance to integrate this knowledge into curricula, promoting research-oriented thinking, creativity, and holistic educational development.

Dr. K. Suneetha, Registrar, commented that IKS would enhance students' cultural awareness and personal growth.

Prof. B. Ramesh Babu, The RIE principal, emphasized the need to combine India's knowledge traditions with modern technology to enhance academic standards and global competitiveness.

Dean (R&D) Prof. Suja S. Nair emphasized that integrating IKS into students' learning would help them gain technical expertise and cultural and ethical values.

Dr. R. Madhumathi (NEP nodal officer) and Dr. G. Vijayalakshmi (UTSAH nodal officer) discussed how IKS encourages interdisciplinary research and innovation while nurturing creativity and holistic personality development among students.

Prof. Ch. Vijaya, principal of the University College, concluded that IKS, aligned with NEP 2020, would open new academic avenues, inspire innovative thinking, and empower students to compete globally.

The panel included academicians, cultural historians, Ayurveda experts, and researchers, who discussed IKS's historical significance, contemporary relevance, challenges, and future directions in education.

Dr. J. Vijetha, and Dr. B.V. Subba Reddy, along with other students, were present.

This initiative highlights India's rich knowledge heritage and strives to incorporate it into modern education to offer a well-rounded learning experience.
