The suspense of the film was ruined for Pune techie, 29-year-old Abhishek Pandey, and his wife and sister when a man sitting behind them began recounting scenes to his wife during the film at INOX Chinchwad on Sunday.

Pande requested the man to stop spoiling the movie for him and his family members, to which the man and his wife got aggressive.

To show just how upset they were, the couple started hurling chocolate bars at Abhishek's wife and sister, verbally abusing them, and eventually pulling their hair and hitting them.

The accused, identified only as 33-year-old Vikas, and his wife have been booked under Sections 353, 294, and 323 of the Indian Penal Code.

"Some people just can't practice basic etiquette these days. You wouldn't believe how many complaints we get every month about strangers ruining the movie experience for others by gossiping about the plot or a scene. It's not even just gossip. Sometimes these people get loud and start reciting the actual scene like they are the protagonists of the damn film. It's surreal. Chinchwad police receive more than 15 complaints every month from different people about this exact same issue."

The officer added, "Abhishek and his family were lucky enough to avoid confrontation and file a police report, but many others don't have the guts to do so every time. It's time theatre managers take responsibility and allocate 'no-spoiler' zones for people who are unaware of a film's plot."

The police are investigating whether cameras and other security measures can help identify and prevent these situations from escalating.
