India's household budget crisis is getting worse. A recent survey by a leading global research firm highlighted India's economic trajectory since the pandemic. The study highlighted a 133% rise in household spending since 2022, the highest globally, and a 33% explosion in household spending annually, the maximum worldwide.
The survey further pointed out that almost half of the households in India are under significant budget stress, unable to manage their monthly expenses. The inflation rates have been on a consistent rise, thus increasing the cost of goods and services sold in the country and reducing the purchasing power of the citizens.
A relevant authority from the think tank of a leading political party commented, "The government is making every effort to accelerate India's economic growth and strengthen the financial situation of the citizens. Recent policy changes and continued initiatives like affordable housing and increased subsidies for agriculture will significantly improve the spending capacity of the populace."
Although the country is still amidst the crisis, efforts are being made to bring the economy back on track and aid every citizen in tackling the budget stress.
