Police in the northern Indian city of Bareilly are investigating after unidentified gunmen shot at the family home of Bollywood actress Disha Patani Friday morning, according to local reports. Patani was not at home at the time, and there were no injuries.

The incident occurred at around 9 a.m. when two men on motorbikes arrived at Patani's house and opened fire on the main gate, according to witnesses.

Police arrived at the scene and discovered that the bullets had torn through the main gate and perforated the front door of the house.

Patani, who is from Bareilly but now lives in Mumbai, posted a video on Instagram late Friday, asking for details about the shooting. "I have full faith in the Indian government and the Indian judiciary," she said in the video. "I will make sure I give my best to find the truth, and we will make sure we get justice."

Police are investigating the shooting and are looking for the two gunmen.

This alarming incident comes a day after Patani posted a video on Instagram, asking for fans' support to donate to the animal shelter she has started building in her father's memory. The actress had recently inaugurated the construction of the shelter named 'Anna Animal Shelter' in Patel Nagar, Bareilly, her native place. The shelter is named after her father, Andrew Patani, who passed away in October 2021.

The actress has faced threats in the past, with unidentified trolls posting fake stories and photos in 2021.
