History

The goal of Early Years education is to build a strong foundation for overall development and lifelong learning. The Early Years Programme utilizes a play-based approach that emphasizes the comprehensive growth of each child. It offers young learners in India a robust start to their educational journey, incorporating best practices from around the globe.

The curriculum provides a well-structured framework for teaching and learning, promoting progression from Early Years 1 to Early Years 2 and beyond into primary education. It supports the development of knowledge, understanding, and skills through a spiral learning approach.

This programme is anchored in five core principles: Experience, Active, Balance, Play, and Transition.

The curriculum is divided into six key areas:

Teaching and Learning

Teaching and learning at Discoveri Oaks School are both engaging and fulfilling, characterized by our innovative and adaptable approach. Our comprehensive Language Development Program helps bridge language gaps, enabling students to communicate their ideas effectively and advance their speaking abilities.

Holistic Learning

Holistic learning emphasizes the complete development of the individual, including their intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual dimensions. At Discoveri Oaks School, we view holistic learning as vital for helping students from diverse backgrounds develop a sense of belonging and a global outlook.

Our curriculum incorporates a variety of subjects and activities to cater to different learning styles and interests, including language, arts, music, dance, and physical education. Extracurricular activities such as sports, drama, and community service projects under Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action (SEWA) also contribute to this approach.

Houses

Discoveri Oaks School is divided into four houses: Kalam, Patkar, PT Usha, and Tagore. Students remain in their assigned house throughout their time at the school. Friendly yet competitive events, including academic, cultural, and sports competitions, are held throughout the year. Points earned contribute to the prestigious House Trophy, awarded at the final Assembly of the year.

Student Community

At Discoveri Oaks School, we are committed to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Our Student SEWA Program – Planting Trees encourages students to participate in environmental conservation by planting trees on and around our school grounds. This program instills a sense of environmental responsibility, raises awareness about the importance of trees, and helps create a greener community.

Through the SEWA Program, students learn about the significance of trees and their ecological impact. They gain hands-on experience in sustainable practices, including tree care, watering, pruning, and pest management.
