The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is taking swift steps to resolve citizen complaints. Commissioner RV Karnan urges officials to promptly act on issues raised during the recent Prajavani program, holding public meetings and phone-in sessions for residents to voice concerns. During these sessions, the commissioner instructs department heads to handle issues carefully and prevent reoccurrence.
Recently, 204 complaints were lodged by residents from various neighborhoods, with the Town Planning Department receiving 37 issues, and the Tax and Housing Departments each getting 7 complaints. A range of departments received varied complaints, emphasizing the need to streamline responses. During the Prajavani phone-in sessions, 4 complaints were made and appropriately forwarded to the relevant departments. GHMC's six zones also received 126 complaints, with the Kukatpally Zone having the highest at 55.
The commissioner ensures that all complaints are heard and acted upon accordingly. Officials such as Additional Commissioners, Zone Officers, and other department heads participated in the review process. The session emphasized the corporation's commitment to maintaining and improving civic amenities and listening to citizen concerns, vowing to promptly address them.
