Man Assaulted Over Water Shortage Argues 'They Beat Me Like A Criminal'

In a shocking incident, a man was seen being violently assaulted by multiple people in Ghaziabad over an argument regarding water shortage. The incident, captured on CCTV cameras and shared widely on social media, shows a man being dragged and beaten by staff in his housing society, allegedly for misconduct and causing a scene over the water shortage.

The man, identified as Amit, has filed a complaint against four named individuals and several unnamed accusers for assault, criminal intimidation, and criminal breach of trust.

In the complaint, Amit claims that he requested the chairman of the housing society to address the ongoing water shortage issue, only to be ridiculed and intimidated by the chairman. Subsequently, several society residents gathered to confront him, verbally abusing him and finally assaulting him.

"They beat me like a criminal," Amit says. "If there is a water crisis, then you have to hold discussions about it...it's about our basic rights."

The police are investigating the matter and have advised all parties to refrain from resorting to violence.
