Drugs are often seen as a plague on society, destroying lives and communities alike. So, its not often that the busting of a drugs ring is considered elite. However, the elite anti-narcotics unit of Telangana, South India, has just done that.

The unit, known as Eagle, recently coordinated with the Cyberabad police force to bust a drugs party (a party where drugs are consumed) in the outskirts of Hyderabad, the state's capital. The party was hosted at a serviced apartment, and attendees included businessmen, a homemaker, a software engineer, and an engineering student.

The operation, which was described as a major crackdown on drug abuse, saw the police seize various drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy. Officers also arrested six people, whom they described as perpetrators and consumers of the drugs. Among those arrested included the party organizer, Teja, who was described as the mastermind behind the operation.

Police stated that the drugs were sourced from Rajahmundry and were distributed at various parties across Hyderabad, as well as farmhouses and even in Goa.

This raid was just one step in an intensified drive to curb the rising number of rave parties and drug trafficking in the region. The elite unit, Eagle, has reportedly been formed just this year and has steadily grown in stature since. Many applaud the unit for their hard work and ingenuity in disrupting this drug ring.
