Hyderabad drug raid stops 'raves' and catches six in the act

Late night parties, masked faces, and illegal substancesthat sums up the scene of a rave party. And it was this scene that the Cyberabad police encountered late last week in one of the city's outskirts. In a coordinated effort with Telanganas elite anti-narcotics unit, the Cyberabad police busted a rave party and arrested six people.

The raid, on August 26, resulted in the seizure of cocaine, ecstasy pills, and MDMA. Madhapur DCP G. Vineeth confirmed the arrest of two peddlers, a transporter, and three consumers. The mastermind behind the operation, Teja, owned a cloud kitchen business and was involved in distributing the drugs. Police allege that Teja would receive the drugs from Rajahmundry and Goa via courier under the disguise of skincare injections. Officers also arrested Vikram, a poultry farm businessman who allegedly peddled drugs, as well as Prashanth Reddy, a wine shop owner, software engineer Bhargav, and engineering student Chandan, who acted as the transporter. Neelima, an admitted homemaker, was also arrested, with police confirming that she had consumed three types of narcotics.

The Cyberabad police stated that this was a part of their intensified drive to curb the rising number of rave parties and drug trafficking within the city. Officers are currently searching for Rahul, who they believe is the main supplier and is currently absconding.
