Reformation and Rehabilitation, an award-winning success

The Middle Eastern region's first organization to win an award for complying with global health and safety protocols against COVID-19 is the General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation. The French company BUREAU VERITAS, which works to promote quality assurance standards, presented the award.

The directorate's recent receipt of this prestigious international award underscores the Interior Minister's directives to protect public health and provide inmate services at the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centers. Additionally, the award is a testament to the directorate's ability to enhance operations and performance while motivating further development.

Thanks to the Interior Minister, all Reformation and Rehabilitation centers have implemented infection control procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These include providing video calls between inmates and their families, offering comprehensive medical care to all inmates, and daily disinfecting centers' buildings. In addition, temperature screening devices are provided at all entrances, and new inmates are quarantined for 14 days while being retested to ensure complete health safety before contacting other inmates.

Director-General of Reformation and Rehabilitation Brigadier Abdulsalam Al Oraifi expressed gratitude for the Interior Minister's encouragement and support of the directorate's efforts to protect public health and provide inmate services. He believes the award marks a new achievement for the directorate in enhancing operation and performance.
