Similarly, on the same day, another passenger arriving from Johannesburg, South Africa, was intercepted at the Mumbai International Airport. A search of his checked-in baggage resulted in the discovery of 380 kilograms of hydroponic weed, hidden within 19 boxes. The substance was seized, and the man was arrested.
In a third incident, on January 2, 2023, officials at the Calicut International Airport intercepted a passenger arriving from Dubai. A search of his person led to the seizure of 180 kilograms of hydroponic weed, which was concealed within his luggage. The passenger was arrested, and the case is under investigation.
