Six individuals, including businessmen, a homemaker, a software engineer, and an engineering student, were arrested in a raid on a drug-fueled party that was conducted by Cyberabad Police in coordination with Telanganas elite anti-narcotics unit. The party was held in an apartment on the outskirts of Hyderabad, where officers confiscated various drugs, and some attendees were also arrested as consumers.
For quite some time, there has been an increasing issue of drug abuse and rave parties in Hyderabad. As a result, the police have been cracking down on these events and attempting to stop drug trafficking. The event was one of the many raids that the police have conducted in order to combat the rising problem of drug abuse in the area.
The raid was conducted at the Rajeshwari Nilayam service apartment in Kondapur on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Officers confiscated 20 grams of cocaine, 8 ecstasy pills (20 grams), and 3 grams of MDMA. The attendees who were arrested included Teja, the mastermind behind the party, who was a 28-year-old cloud kitchen business owner who sourced the cocaine from a Bengaluru supplier; Vikram, a 41-year-old homemaker named Neelima; 36-year-old Prashanth Reddy, who owned a wine shop; Bhargav, a 31-year-old software engineer; and Chandan, a 20-year-old engineering student who acted as the transporter.
Police stated that all six individuals who were arrested were involved either in the procurement or consumption of the narcotics at the party. The raid was part of an intensified drive to curb the rising menace of rave parties and drug trafficking in Hyderabad, and the police are still looking for the party's supplier, Rahul, who is from Bengaluru.
