Rajveer Singh, a resident of Moga, ended his life in the bathroom of a bank in Mohali and accused a top cop along with four others of harassment in a video he recorded before his death. After the video emerged, police have now registered a case.

The man shot himself with his service pistol in a bank in Mohali's Derabassi zone on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was employed as a Sub Inspector with the Punjab Police and was posted in Moga.

In the video he recorded before the act, Singh blamed Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Gurjot Singh Kaler and four others for his death.

"I am committing suicide due to the harassment meted out to me by AIG Gurjot Singh Kaler and some other officials... they were harassing me by getting me transferred repeatedly," he said in the video.

The deceased further added that he was "not mentally fit" and that this was affecting his work. He requested a thorough investigation into the matter.

The case has been registered under Section 306 (Abetment of suicide) and further investigation is underway.
