Plucky Rescue at Bankura Railway Station SAVES LIFE: An elderly woman was miraculously rescued from potentially fatal injury after she slipped and fell between a train and the platform at Bankura Railway Station. Rapid Action by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and eyewitnesses prevented a terrible tragedy.

Just after the Margashirsha Express arrived at the platform on Tuesday afternoon, the woman attempted to board the moving train. In a frightening moment, she lost balance and fell, becoming trapped and risking being dragged along the platform. Luckily, Railway Protection Force (RPF) Constable Amit Kumar Mall was on duty and spring into action.

As soon as he saw the woman falling, Amit rushed to the car and pulled her to safety. In a daring move, he jumped onto the platform amidst the vibrating wheels to throw her back onto the platform. She was barely hanging onto the edge whilst the train moved onward, hurting herself badly yet lucking escaping being crushed. Conscious throughout the whole ordeal, the woman was immediately attended to by fellow passengers until other RPF personnel arrived at the scene with emergency medical equipment. They performed a quick assessment and safely removed the woman from the platform.

miraculous rescue was witnessed by many passengers, some of whom were brought to tears. They recounted how the woman saved from certain disaster thanks to the quick thinking and courageous actions of Constable Amit Mall and other RPF personnel. Coincidentally, Amit had undergone training in emergency response and train-related accidents only a month ago, and it is surely this that spurred his quick reaction. The woman is now receiving medical treatment in hospital and is thankfully recovering well.

The general manager of South Eastern Railway, Sanjiv Kishore, has expressed his gratitude to the RPF personnel, stating that their alertness and dedication to duty helped avert a potential tragedy.
