Oracle, in partnership with theNational Skills Development Corporation (NSDC), has launched Project Vidyaunder the Skill India Mission to upskill 500,000 youth and women in emergingtechnologies by 2028. This initiative focuses on key areas such as AI,Generative AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, machine learning, data science,and application development, preparing learners for future-ready careers.
Delivered via Oracle University’sMyLearn platform, Project Vidya offers both foundational and professional-leveltraining, culminating in industry-recognized digital skills certifications. Theprogram initially aims to reach 100,000 learners from a range of backgrounds,including engineering, arts, and sciences.
The initiative will providefoundational cloud technology training, guiding students toward advancedprofessional certifications in areas like DevOps, AI, application development,business processes, and data science. Additional training will be tailored tolearners' educational goals and levels.
Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC, stated,“Through strategic partnerships and innovative models, we are creating askilled ecosystem that not only meets the current industry needs but alsoanticipates future trends, empowering India's youth to make a meaningfulcontribution to the country’s growth and development.”
He added, “Our collaboration withindustry leaders like Oracle will help accelerate the training of our youth,positively impacting their career prospects and supporting nation-building.”
To date, over 80,000 students havebeen trained and certified through Project Vidya in collaboration with theTamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) as part of the state’s NaanMudhalvan program.
Shailender Kumar, Senior VicePresident and Regional Managing Director of Oracle India and NetSuite JAPAC,emphasized, “Training and education are crucial drivers of economicdevelopment. With India’s young population, the opportunities for our youth areimmense. Through Project Vidya, and by equipping them with modern technologieslike cloud and AI, we aim to make a significant contribution to nation-buildingand economic growth. Our collaborations with NSDC and TNSDC will provideessential skills for the future digital economy, and we look forward toexpanding the program’s reach across India in partnership with states andskilling organizations.”
Project Vidya will be deliveredthrough Oracle MyLearn, Oracle University's global training and enablementplatform, which is used by millions of learners worldwide.
