Mukesh Ambani Hits a Six in IPL: Secures Rs 200 Crore Sponsorship Deal with Campa

Campa, a brand owned by MukeshAmbani’s Reliance Consumer Products, has secured the IPL T20’s second-mostprominent "co-presenting/co-powered by" sponsorship deal for Rs 200crore. This deal replaces Coca-Cola's Thums Up partnership from last year,which was also valued at Rs 200 crore. The IPL 2025 season is set to run fromMarch 21 to May 25. According to an executive familiar with the matter, the"co-presenting/co-powered by" sponsorship is a coveted position. Thisis the first summer where all cola companies will compete nationally, as untillast year, Campa was restricted to select markets. The acquisition of such amajor national property signals the brand’s intent to rapidly scale up acrossIndia.

Alongside Campa, Reliance ConsumerProducts Ltd (RCPL) is set to heavily promote two of its newly launched sportsdrinks, 'Spinner' and 'RasKik Gluco Energy,' both priced at Rs 10. Advertisingcampaigns for these products will be rolled out during the IPL season. Thesummer months, from March to July, account for over half of the annual sales ofsoft drinks, according to reports from the Economic Times.

‘Spinner,’ co-developed with formerSri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan, has also secured agreements withfour IPL teams: Lucknow Super Giants, SunRisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings,Gujarat Titans, and Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola will continue itspartnerships with Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. The soft drinkgiant plans to further leverage its partnership with Domino’s, a food chainwith over a thousand outlets, following Jubilant FoodWorks' acquisition of a40% stake in Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) in December.

In terms of ad revenue, executivesfrom media buying firms predict that IPL 2025’s television and OTT platformswill generate Rs 4,500 crore in ad revenue, marking an 8-10% increase from theprevious year.
