The drugs and guns are coming out of Winnipeg neighbourhoods. Three people were arrested in a recent investigation turned raid in the Rossmere neighbourhood last month. The guns and gangs unit uncovered over $112,000 in illegal drugs, a loaded handgun and an empty 50-round magazine.

Police discovered 998 grams of cocaine, 129 grams of crack, 18 grams of psilocybin and three grams of MDMA, as well as hydrocodone, cash and packaging materials used for drugs. Two males, 26 and 29, remain in custody and face numerous charges including drug trafficking, possessing property obtained by crime and firearms offences. The female, aged 43, was released on an undertaking.

It's unclear how the drugs and weapons policing efforts in Winnipeg will evolve, but citizens are pushing for change. This recent bust helps illustrate the importance of such work.
