Indian telecom business Jio and global investment management firm Allianz of Germany, yesterday announced the signing of a joint agreement to set up a reinsurance business here in India. This partnership aims to bring the expertise of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) N.V., the industrial insurer of Allianz Group, to India's insurance market which is growing at a staggering rate of 25% over the past few years. This also showcases Jio's commitment to India and the company's vision of becoming a consumer-facing financial company.

This collaboration between Jio and Allianz will enable the provision of reinsurance capacities and technical expertise to insurers in India. The joint venture will endeavor to initiate new opportunities for insurance companies and help develop innovative reinsurance solutions for the growing market in India. It will also help introduce new insurance products to the market, and refine existing ones to cater to the evolving needs of Indian consumers, while also focusing on creating employment opportunities here in India.
