There was a riot of political colour in Nellore district as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu attended the marriage of Beeda Ravichandras son. The Chief Minister, who reached Kanuparthipadu village in Nellore rural mandal by 1.15 pm in the afternoon, was given a rousing welcome by the administration, comprising local MPs, MLAs, and Ministers. The marriage ceremony took place at the VPR Convention Hall in the same village.
Despite previous efforts to develop the area, Nellore has remained stagnant and was even neglected for political reasons, alleged Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana. Despite funding two key projects, namely drinking water from the Sangam Barrage and Under Ground Drainage (UGD), past governments have stalled progress. With a cost of Rs 550 crore each, the projects are finally set to be completed in the near future.
