It is unfortunate that Andhra Pradesh, once known as the granary of India, has had to face dire agricultural challenges due to irresponsible policies and negligence. AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu recently criticized the previous YSRC government for its neglect of irrigation projects, vowing to repair the damaged gates of the Somasila project.
Andhras government is taking steps to establish four top-tier educational institutions to provide underprivileged students with a corporate-level education. The initiative, inspired by Minister Nara Lokesh's vision, will see the renovation of the existing VR High School in Nellore with the aim to accommodate 2000 students per institution, who will receive free meals, books and uniforms and education from nursery to grade 12. The state government will also invest 2 crore INR in installing sports and gym equipment in municipal schools, starting with Santapeta Model School and BVS Girls High School in Nawabpet. Officials have been directed to clean up the surroundings of Santapeta Model School within 48 hours and report back within a week to develop basketball, volleyball, and cricket facilities. The state plans to have the gym and sports equipment set up by end of March.
